See Sheridan Country Through the Eyes of Someone Who Knows Its Stories

Explore the battlefields, trails, communities, and landscapes of northern Wyoming and southeastern Montana with longtime Sheridan resident and historical guide Mike Kuzara.

A different kind of tour

More Than Monuments

Mike doesn't simply drive visitors from site to site. He helps you understand the landscape in which history unfolded — why routes followed certain terrain, where historic trails crossed rivers and creeks, how forts related geographically to one another, and how military movements played out across the country.

Mike helps visitors picture the country before the roads and buildings were here. That's the difference between visiting a battlefield and truly understanding one.

Your Guide

Meet Mike Kuzara

Mike has spent most of his life in Wyoming, with deep roots in Sheridan County. He grew up at Kuzaraville — a small historic settlement established by his grandfather near Big Goose Creek — and has lived and worked across northern Wyoming and southeastern Montana for decades.

His 31 years with Range Telephone took him across eastern Sheridan County and into Montana, giving him an unusually detailed knowledge of the roads, ranches, communities, and landscapes most visitors never see. He has been conducting historical tours for more than 25 years.

A Place That Stays With You

Sheridan sits at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains, surrounded by open country that stretches in every direction. It's a place with genuine character — friendly, unhurried, and rooted in its own history. A visitor from England once looked across the landscape and said it simply:

"All this vastness makes one feel insignificant."
